Dr. Atkins:
Do not take any kind of iron supplement, tablet, or tonic without first going to a doctor for a blood check.
Dr. Balch:
Anemia: as prescribed by a doctor. Take with 100mg of vitamin C for better absorption.
Copper deficiency: as directed by a doctor. Take with 100mg of vitamin C for better absorption.
Pregnancy-related problems: 30mg daily, or as directed by physician. Take with 100mg vitamin C for better absorption.
Dr. Barney:
PMS: take only as directed and keep out of the reach of children.
Pregnancy-related complications: 60mg daily if deficient.
Drs. Zand, Spreen, & LaVille:
Anemia: liquid iron supplement as recommended by your doctor.
Insomnia: 5 - 10mg once or twice daily, at beginning of a meal. Too much iron can be toxic. Do not exceed the recommended dosage from all supplements.
Restless legs syndrome: consult your doctor.
