Insomnia beginning dose: 2mg (or as little as .5mg). Increase the amount somewhat if you don't notice an effect after several days.

Dr. Balch:
Aging: 1.5 - 5mg daily, taken 2 hours or less before bedtime.
Arteriosclerosis/atherosclerosis: 2 - 3 mg daily, taken 2 hours or less before bedtime.
Autism: 2 - 3mg daily for adults, 1mg or less daily for children, taken 2 hours or less before bedtime.
Breast cancer: 3 - 50mg at bedtime.
Bruxism: follow label directions.
Chronic fatigue syndrome: follow label directions. Take 2 hours or less before bedtime.
