Men:
15 - 18: 1.8mg
19 - 50: 1.7mg
51 and up: 1.2mg
Women:
15 - 50: 1.1mg
51 and up: 1.0mg
Pregnant: 1.5mg
Nursing: 1.6mg

Dr. Atkins:
General supplementation: 25 - 50mg daily.

Dr. Balch:
Cystic fibrosis: 50mg 3 times daily in addition to a vitamin B complex.
Eyestrain: 25mg 3 times daily in addition to a vitamin B complex.
Itchy/tired eyes: 50mg daily in addition to a vitamin B complex.
Thinning eyelashes: follow label directions. Take in addition to a vitamin B complex.
Hyperthyroidism: 50mg twice daily in addition to a vitamin B complex.
Hypothyroidism: 50mg twice daily in addition to a vitamin B complex.
Kidney disease: 25mg 3 times daily in addition to a vitamin B complex.
Migraine: 400mg daily in addition to a vitamin B complex.
Nail problems: 50mg 3 times daily.
Parkinson's disease: 50mg 3 times daily in addition to a vitamin B complex.
Rosacea: 50mg daily in addition to a vitamin B complex.

If you take any of the B vitamins individually, you should also take a B-complex supplement at a different time of day.
