Black Haw (Viburnum Prunifolium)

The bark of the Black Haw shrub was used by the Native Americans in tea form to treat menstrual cramps and other gynecological problems.

Black Haw contains analgesic and uterine relaxing components and acts as a sedative, which is why it helps with cramping. It is also considered an alterative for the uterus. It may also help with asthma.

CAUTION: The salicin in Black Haw is similar to aspirin and is not recommended for use during pregnancy.
