Hyssop has been traditionally used for lung ailments and fevers. It is also used for lung disorders such as asthma. It helps relax and expel phlegm from the lungs to relieve coughing. It also helps promote sweating to expel toxins through the skin.

Hyssop is a member of the mint family and is thought to aid in digestion and help to relieve gas.

It works as a blood purifier and blood pressure regulator. Hyssop has also been studied for the treatment of herpes simplex virus and has been found to inhibit the growth of the virus.
