The kombucha mushroom is usually placed in a nutrient solution of distilled water, black tea and sugar. It then undergoes chemical changes beneficial for human consumption. The fungus feeds on sugar producing glucuronic acid, lactic acid, vitamins, amino acids and some antibiotic solutions.

The tea was found to prevent the growth and colonization of other yeast and bacteria. It is thought to help a wide variety of conditions. It seems to have a detoxifying affect on the entire body, which makes it beneficial for invigorating the whole body.

The Kombucha is actually a combination of a number of different elements, including lichen, bacteria, and yeast. Kombucha tea contains a variety of health promoting substances and is a natural energy booster and detoxifier.
