Cetyl Myristoleate (CMO)

  • Rheumatoid arthritis
  • Arthritis
  • Joint health

Cetyl Myristoleate (CMO) is a fatty acid which is absorbed in the intestines after being orally ingested. It can be extracted from living tissue or synthetically produced.

Currently CMO is being produced synthetically without using any animal extracts. CMO has the ability to inhibit the symptoms of arthritic disease including pain, and inflammation and is also considered an immunizing agent against the development of rheumetoid arthritis.

One report states that a new natural, nontoxic treatment is now available that will replace the standard pharmacological treatments for all forms of arthritis, CMO.

Sources: Currently CMO is synthetically produced. CMO occurs in certain mice species, male beavers and in sperm whale oil.

Precautions: Tests have shown that CMO has no side effects or toxicity. CMO should not be given to children unless under the supervision of a qualified health care provider. The effects of CMO on pregnant or nursing mothers has not been studied. Anyone suffering from liver disease or asthma should not take CMO without the approval of their doctor.

Dosage Ranges and Duration of Administration: European studies 100 mg of cetyl myristoleate given over 30 to 45 days (six to four capsules daily would be used) helped to relieve symptoms of arthritis. Relief of symptoms is usually noted after two weeks.
